Pulse smart pen is the latest in the digital pen industry. Unlike the other digital pens that exist in the market, this one has its own unique characteristics, much to advance to knock out other digital pens in terms of applications.
The pulse smart pen has been introduced by 'Livescribe' costing $150 for a 1GB audio data storage. Alternatively a $200 can also be bought if you want this device to store more data, this version comes with 2 GB of data storage.
The Pulse is really a smart pen as it allows the user to record his own audio or that of a lecturer through its integrated microphone. It then incorporates these audio clips with your handwritten notes. The pulse also allows the handwritten notes to be seen on a computer but doesn't really convert them into computer text.
The pen also has a 2.5 mm screen which can display one line of text. It captures hand written notes on a special paper and as it has 1 GB memory which means you can store up to 100 hours of recording. This recordings can be easily transferred to the PC where by notes can be easily searched.
There are few problems though with the microphone as its is sensitive to some noise E.g, the typing noise can be picked up by the pulse. This noise can render recordings useless.
