Brain Controlled Games

For such a long time we have seen people claim that they can use there mind power to control the things around us, they claim to pick and move things solely using their mind power. The famous kids story, "Matilda" written by Roald Dahl, is based some what on the extra oridnary mind of a child who can move things using her brain. Similarly the film "Matrix" showed us some spoon bending insight. But all this so far has been limited to fiction and stories without any element of truth in them.
Now all this fictitious thoughts of our novels and films have become a reality and this is no joke. A new game has been developed by toy makers, Matel, which allows the gamer to move a small foam ball through a small course, the important thing here is that all this is done solely using the gamers mind concentration.
The game is called 'Mind Flex' in this game when one starts to focus on lifting the ball through his mind, the physical game mechanism starts to lift the ball gently with the help of a fan providing gusts of air. If you loose concentration, the ball falls down.
Once the ball has been lifted the gamer can move the ball through the course. Here immense eye co-ordination is required as it allows the brain to focus on the ball. The game comes with an EEG based head set, which detects pulses a coming out from the brain.
A number of other companies have also started to build similar games each having the same concept but with a little different challenges. This is the first initiative made by gaming industry were ones' mind can have physical affect on the surrounding.
There is no telling what else we would be able to control in the near feature using this technology and also no one knows what other uglier picture it may portray if the technology gains success. In fact if we were able to control a virtual world using our brains, I am really scared to think that what social and moral destruction it may lead to!!
